At the heart of San Francisco’s iconic Transamerica Pyramid Center, Café Sebastian offers a modern bistro experience led by award-winning chef Brad Kilgore. Open all day, it serves inventive, market-driven dishes alongside a selection of signature sweet and savory baked creations.
The client approached us to rebrand the restaurant in a way that elevates its presence while preserving its core identity. We kept the strongest element, the logomark, unchanged as it already embodied the essence of the brand. The logotype was carefully refined—subtle enough to feel familiar, yet improved in typographic balance and clarity. Building on this foundation, we expanded the visual system. Custom brushes inspired by the logomark’s geometry shaped a cohesive set of illustrations and graphic elements. Refined typography, a recalibrated color palette, and forms that echo the rhythm of the mark completed the system.
The result is not a redesign, but an evolution—retaining the brand’s strengths while opening it up to a more contemporary and expressive visual world.
